Our Process

1

Free Quote

When you contact Oak & Willow for lawn care, you can choose between an in-person estimate or a virtual estimate. For in-person estimates, a crew member will visit your property to assess the work and provide you with a price on the spot. For virtual quotes, simply send us photos of your project and we’ll prepare a detailed estimate for you over email!

2

Aeration

If your lawn shows signs of poor drainage patterns and compaction, we will begin our lawn care service by aerating your lawn. This process involves creating small holes throughout your lawn which help nutrients, water, and air to penetrate the soil and enrich your grass. We recommend this service twice annually in order to achieve the best results for your lawn!

3

Overseed and Fertilize

Often completed alongside aeration, we offer overseeding services to help provide lush, green grass throughout the year. This includes spreading a thick layer of grass seed onto your soil, helping to fill in gaps and promote effective growth. We also spread a season appropriate fertilizer to help boost the seed growth! We recommend getting this service in both the Fall and Spring for the best results on your lawn! If your lawn is still struggling, dethatching or a top dressing will be recommended!

The Benefits of Lawn Care

Stronger Lawn Health

Aeration, fertilizer, and topdressing strengthen your grass from the roots up. These treatments improve nutrient absorption, soil health, and resilience, keeping your lawn thick and healthy year after year.

Thicker, Greener Growth

Overseeding fills in bare patches while fertilizer boosts color and density. Combined, these services promote lush, vibrant grass that looks great and feels even better underfoot.

Long-Term Protection

A well-fed, well-aerated lawn naturally resists weeds, drought, and pests. With ongoing treatments, your lawn becomes easier to maintain and stays healthier with less effort.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to prep my lawn before your team arrives?

While no extensive preparation is required, we do appreciate if the lawn area is clear of large debris, toys, and furniture to ensure an efficient service. Also, please make sure any pet excrement is cleaned up.

What is the best time of year for aeration and overseeding?

We suggest that you aerate and overseed your lawn at least once  a year, typically during the early fall and optionally during the spring. For optimal results, twice is recommended. Further, your grass should generally be fertilized 2-4 times a year in the early spring and fall when your grass is still growing to feed it necessary nutrients.

I’ve always watered and mowed my lawn. Why isn’t that enough?

While watering and mowing are essential, achieving a lush, green lawn requires a holistic approach. Factors like soil health, pest control, and nutrient balance also play a significant role in your lawn’s overall vitality.

Why do I need to hire a Lawn Care Company?

One big reason is that you’re hiring an expert who can diagnose problems. We can tell you whether or not the problem with your lawn is a disease, an insect or simply a lack of water, and that can be challenging to do on your own.

What makes your lawn care programs unique?

Our lawn care programs are tailored to the individual needs of each lawn. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, we consider factors like soil type, grass variety, and specific challenges to create a customized care plan.

How often should you water?

Light, frequent watering is best. Water before 8am and before 8pm for 15-20 minutes during hot and dry periods is best for germinating seed and keeping your current turf healthy. The best and most cost-effective method of keeping a healthy lawn and defending against weed infestation and other pests is to resist the drought by keeping your lawn hydrated appropriately.

Are the products you use safe for pets and children?

Yes, we prioritize the safety of our clients and their loved ones. Our treatments are designed to be effective yet safe.

How often will you visit my property?

The frequency of visits depends on the services you opt for. Some treatments, like fertilization, may be seasonal, while others, such as pest control, might require more frequent attention.

Is your team trained and insured?

Absolutely! Our team comprises trained professionals with vast experience in lawn care. Additionally, we are fully insured to ensure peace of mind for our clients.
